Learn About Alternative Energy

So you hear on the news, commercials and this crazy thing called the internet that they are going to be making energy from corn oil, wind and the sun - but you don’t know your ass from your elbow when it comes to either one.  You do know that when you go to the gas station to fill up your gas guzzler, there is unleaded, super unleaded & diesel - but never a high octane “wind” option.  For too long our planet has relied on oil & gas to run our day to day operations and with a new ‘green’ initiative rolling out in the past years, you can expect to see more and more alternative energies to choose from.  Now does this mean when you choose an electric company you can choose a wind company or a solar company… not quite yet.  However you can do a bit of research and learn which companies utilize more than just the normal means to produce energy.  It does mean that down the road we will be able to buy a car that runs on exactly what we want.

So to better help explain some of this alternative energy stuff and what it means and what it consists of, I am going to drop a few articles so you can learn about it.  I know living in Texas (which I do) has always meant you hardly met a person that didn’t know the price of crude at any given time of day or you knew at least 20-50 people that worked in the oil business… so learning about these new energies is kind of neat - and as we diversify as a state & country… we will be learning more and more.  Like it or not.

Showing Off Our Plants w/ Pics

Snapped some pictures of our various plants so far and wanted to share with everyone the good ones.  We hope that by summer we will have a full fledged garden to hand out fresh veggies to the masses.  Ok, maybe just the people close enough to throw and hit with a veggie of their choice.

My favs… of course I think its cool to see a lime on a tree - almost as cool as seeing one float in my beer, but also I think its cool that the parsley has started putting out the trademark leaf already (instead of the sprout type leaf).  Also the jalapenos are cool, even though they haven’t start to bare/bear (which is it?) fruit… the hangy-down flowers are looking just like it will when it has peppers hangin’.  See all the pics below.  Enjoy.

Trying To Get My Grandpa’s Hands

What a weekend of hard work.  Shala & I had big dreams for this weekend to see if we could be successful in booking up every single free minute with an activity, chore or something other than sitting on the couch and eating ourselves into oblivion.

We succeeded.

Saturday we spent driving back and forth to Odessa to attend basketball games and in the middle of that we managed to move a piano into the shop.  You didn’t know?  We are turning it into an old fashioned juke joint… I thought I told you guys. ;)

Pictures While Driving: We Honked

I bet this guy gets tired of idiots honking at all hours of the day - but you know what… if you don’t want to be funny, don’t walk around looking like a clown.  So at 8:30 Sunday morning while on our way to Home Depot… we honked.  We are funny like that.

Honk if you like beer!

Double Danger Dogs Diary: Vol. 2.5

As Mikey pees on “the corner” in the waiting room - we knew we were in for a doubly-dangerous vet visit.  The lady assured us that it happens all day long, that it was “the corner” - every male had to show its dominance by marking it with his scent.  Mikey definitely dominated at that moment in time.
