mmmmmmm fried okra. My mom used to make it all the time. Our local super walmart actually makes a mean fried okra, so I often get it from there. My husband still thinks it's weird. It's probably sacrilege to get fried okra from walmart'd deli, but whatev!

Whats this bread buisiness. Dont you know your supposed to have biscuits!

I think that something like this still comes in way under the calories of fast food somehow.

Last night was a lazy night for me. stoffers potatoes and Sausage. frozen food still counts. Im making rules now too.

Tonight im making baked chicken and Uncle Bens wild rice. Its more exciting than it sounds i guess.

@Amy - We usually hit it with a lil garlic, salt & pepper. Good to know someone else digs it as much as us.

Do you season the flour? I add oregano, garlic and onion powders, dry mustard, paprika and a few other things (memory is failing, old age ya know)...makes the steak and gravy so awesome (I use the seasoned flour from dredging to thicken the gravy). Definitely not a southern thing, we eat it 3-4 times a month =) I haven't had fried okra in a long time....mmmm....me thinks I need to make some!
