NestMaker - things and places for homes and gardens

Shala and I have flocked to blogs about home & garden stuff since buying our home this past year.  Nestmaker is one of those sites that daily we find time to check out what cool plants Megan has bought or what neat stuff she has decorating her place with.  Very cool to see someone in a totally different area (Oregon) and how they garden compared to what we do here in West Texas.  The thing that overrides it all is the understanding that gardening is more than what you plant, more than what type of gardening your doing - it is about doing it, living it and enjoying the time spent doing it.  It is about stepping back at the end of the day and feeling you made a difference.  Or some crap like that.  If you are into the things we are into, which you are here reading our blog - so you have to be into something we are… then you need to check out Megan @ Nestmaker.

the germinatrix (at Domino Magazine)

Since we have started the whole gardening thing this year, we have been trying to find good gardening blogs.  This is definitely one of those sites we found by the 6 degrees of blogs.  Dooce > Face of the Cookie > NestMaker > the germinatrix.  4 degrees - but you get the point.  A good blog nonetheless with lots of garden talk and tips.  Make sure to check it out if you get the green thumb bug.  Drop back to the main site and you can get all kinds of design tips and stuff to spruce up the house as well.

Get Rich Slowly

Tim has had this blog linked up for a while and I seem to check it out when I can.  I find myself looking at it more often than not these days, so why not share with everyone else?  If you have a hankering for reading about money and tips about finances - this is the place to do it.  The blog also has cool information about other things like fitness too, so it helps to break up the routine of just MONEY MONEY MONEY.  Check it out if you have time.

Face of the Cookie

Another one of those blogs that I couldn’t quit reading the other day.  I think more than the content, the style of writing gets me stuck on a blog more than anything.  You know one of those blogs that you read and can almost hear the person talking even though you have never met nor heard them before?  This is one of those blogs.  This chick writes similar to how Heather over at Dooce does, funny - uncensored and clever all around.  Take a few pages to judge; you will be adding her to your daily reads in no time.

Another blog I couldn’t quit reading.  Since starting this new website, I tend to gravitate to blogs giving out info on how to make a living off blogging.  The funny thing is… the more I read the more I realize that it is more about doing what you do - instead of trying so hard to linkbait and do things that you know deep down is just a ploy.  This blog teaches you the business of blogging and what works and what doesn’t.  Check it out when you have time.
